Services Available to Students at a Distance

Aquatics
Students at a distance are referred to their local city, community recreation, or American Red Cross providers for aquatic programming. An available resource with publicly-accessible swimming pools is Swimmers Guide. Aquatics programming is available to students at a distance if they come to campus. Use fees may apply.


Group Fitness
Students at a distance are referred to the following resources to match their goals for fitness classes: local community recreation and fitness centers; exercise videos for purchase and YouTube videos. Group fitness classes are available to students at a distance if they come to campus. Additional fees may apply.


Personal Training
Personal training is partially available in the form of videos with exercises and exercise tips which are posted on the website. No additional fees apply for use of this resource. An available resource with free personal training online.


Intramurals – Non-Physical Competition
Intramural programming that is non-physical is available to students at a distance. Event examples are Basketball Bonanza, Football Frenzy, Tournament Bracket Winners Selection, T-Shirt design competition. Entries can be submitted via email. For specific dates, events, and instructions, check the Intramural web page. Use fees may apply.


Open Recreation
Students at a distance are referred to local city or community recreation providers for recreation programming that matches their recreation goals and interests. An available resource with a directory of health clubs and gyms can be accessed at link. Open Recreation programming and facility access is available to students at a distance if they come to campus. Use fees may apply.


Wellness Resources
Wellness Resources are available to students at a distance and are posted in the Fitness & Wellness section of the website. No additional fees apply for use of this resource.


Outdoor Programs – Trips
Outdoor trips are available to students at a distance if they are able to attend the on-campus pre-trip meeting (attendance may be via WebEx with the advance arrangement) and meet at the designated departure location. Use fees may apply.


Wellness Seminars and Cooking Classes
Wellness Seminars and Cooking Classes are available to students at a distance if arrangements are made in advance to record or deliver these events via Web Ex. Additional fees may apply to opt-in to use this resource.



Services Not Available to Students At A Distance

Intramural Sports – Physical Competition
This program includes team and individual sports activities offered on campus. Students must come to campus in order to participate. It is not an appropriate program to be delivered to distance learning students.

Outdoor Programs – Equipment Rental
This program includes equipment available for rental to students. Students must come to campus in order to pick up the rental equipment. It is not an appropriate program to be delivered to distance learning students.

Sleep Pod
This program includes a Sleep Pod available for students to use while the Dugan Wellness Center is open. It is not an appropriate program to be delivered to distance learning students.

Sports Clubs
This program is designed to serve individual interests in different sports and recreational activities. It is not an appropriate program to be delivered to distance learning students.

Student Wellness Program
This program includes physical testing, measurements and participation in specific group exercise classes. It is not an appropriate program to be delivered to distance learning students.
