The Paws for a Cause program is a dog walking fundraiser offered in conjunction with the Recreational Sports Department and the Women’s Center within the Division of Student Affairs at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.  The purpose of this program is to raise awareness of breast cancer, as well as local animal adoption opportunities, while raising funds for First Friday, a local organization that partners with Christus Spohn Hospital.  First Friday is the primary beneficiary for this event, as the funds raised from admissions to the event are donated to this organization in order to underwrite free mammograms for South Texans in need.  It is our hope that by providing such an event to the community we will not only raise awareness, but also educate the community about the importance of a healthy lifestyle as a means of prevention and how great a contribution pets can make to wellness.  It provides the campus and community a fun fitness activity to participate in together, as well as allows for participants to bring their pets, socialize and even learn more about the animals available for adoption with the local Coastal Bend Small Breed Rescue in Corpus Christi.

• $5 registration fee!
• Goal: Raise $1,500 to help pay for free mammograms for South Texans in need, and raise awareness about breast cancer.
• Waiver: Here is the mandatory waiver for you to fill out and bring to the event!
• Contest: Pinkest Pooch & Pinkest Pair by the Women's Center. Student Organizations is having a Pinkest Collar contest! FMI the Women's Center Webpage!

 Open to the Community, but dogs must have updated vaccinations, and be dog and people friendly.

Don't have a dog? Still want to participate? The Coastal Bend Small Breed Rescus will provide up to 20 people-friendly dogs that can be "borrowed" at the event!
