Family Fun Day is a program ran through the Recreational Sports department that allows for the children of the TAMUCC community (students, faculty, and staff members) to have some fun. Every month, Rec Sports tries to get the kids participating and interacting with others their own age through activities, arts and crafts, events, and games. Some of the Family Fun Days are housed within the campus of TAMU-CC where they can enjoy a few hours of having a campout on one of the university’s lawns and roast s’mores, having a swimming party, or participating in recreational activities while parents and guardians go out and have a date night for Valentine’s Day or go Christmas shopping. Other times they are held at different locations around town to have the children experience new and enjoyable things, such as Hooks/Islander baseball games, bowling, the Texas State Aquarium, etc. All events put on through this program are at no cost to the parents and guardians, and registration for each event usually occurs through contacting the coordinator of the program.
